Farmer Paweł
Paweł was born and raised in Krakow, Poland. Growing up he spent summers on his grandparents’ farm, at a time when it was never questioned whether or not a farm was organic–it just was. His sense of deep moral commitment to doing things honestly, right and well make him an ideal farmer. Not only is he focused on the day-to-day running of the farm, he is also an ideas man. He dreams of many ways to be more sustainable and innovative. Because of his Masters in Polish Literature, he understands that farm life is also full of drafts and re-writing, that it is okay to make mistakes as long as you correct them and learn from them.
Farmer Kelly
Kelly was born and raised in Wisconsin, but often visited Faribault County, where her parents are from. Visiting her grandparents every summer, she really grew to enjoy the wide open, big sky and the dark, fertile soil. Kelly has been drawn to the natural world all of her life. With the curiosity of a cat combined with the inquisitiveness of a fox, she has an infinite amount of questions. Backed with a degree in Philosophy of Environmental Ethics, she approaches farm life with a long-term, holistic, ecosystems approach. Add that to her love of literature, art, humor and all things creative, she really brings a lot to the farm.
