What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?
Here are the basics: Just like you subscribe to a newspaper or magazine, a CSA is a subscription for produce. A farmer offers a certain number of “shares” to the public. Usually, the share consists of a box of enough vegetables and fruit to feed a small family. Interested consumers purchase a share (membership/subscription) in advance and in return, they receive a box of locally grown, fresh produce each week throughout the growing season.

Members rejoice with the farmer during periods of abundance and harmony, and they mourn when drought, hail, surges of pests or other unexpected events fall upon the farm.

A CSA is a shared venture.

What to expect from DelaBlu Farm’s first CSA:
- A prepaid box of fresh, sustainably-grown produce each week from June to October
- An invitation to a fall harvest party
- One gourd birdhouse or button earrings or bracelet
- DelaBlu Updates (Our newsletter with recipes, jokes, poems, kids’ challenge section)
- Optional volunteer days to get to know your farmer and fellow members and help out your farm
- Box pick up at the farmers’ market or at prearranged times and locations 15% discount for bulk orders for all your preserving needs
- To be more connected to your food
